The Music Room features live music every Friday Night and thre is piano music in The Country Bar every Sunday
lunch time. We also feature the talented pianist, Walter B playing every Saturday evening in the Bar.
We love Jazz, World Folk, Blues and the infectious joy of Boogie Woogie . We host the Annual UK International
Boogie Woogie Festival every July - definitely an event not to be missed! For the first time this year we are having a Trad
Jazz "New Orleans" May day weekend with some wonderful artists playing live with us.

The Music Room has a warm and intimate atmosphere, it is a wonderful place to enjoy a meal and listen to music.
It books up quickly, however, so don't delay if you want to reserve a table!
A Live Music Programme is printed below, if you want to know more about an event, please give us a call, we
are happy to describe the artists, type of music, etc. We are extremely fortunate to share our love of music with some
great musicians and friends who really do give us some fantastic performances.

The 4th UK International
Boogie Woogie Festival
was
held on
4th,5th & 6th July 2008
and it was as truly wonderful weekend! Camping in Fiddler's Cottage garden, with views of Fontmell Down
and Hambledon Hill, was a great success and over-subscribed. Even the rain on Saturday night failed to dampen everyone's
spirits. Late revellers were still playing boogie woogie on the two pianos in the bar at 1am on Monday morning!!!
We welcomed new friends from Holland, Belgium, France, Germany, Ireland, USA and Australia. The Creole Pork Curry was
a particular favourite in the Bar and shared its popularity with Piddle Real Ale and Rose's incomparable Dorset Cider.
The concerts at The Exchange, Sturminster Newton were terrific......more next year I guess....

Traditional Story Telling Event
Shining Bear hosted a wonderful weekend of story telling and entertainment for Children and Adults alike in his Sun Lodge
Tipee on the Beer Garden lawn, on 19th and 20th July. Tom Wolfe painted the children's faces and Sophie (all the way
from Australia via Durweston) sang on Sunday night, creating a magical atmosphere. Bear's stories were punctuated
with his powerful didgeridoo and flute playing. The Sun Lodge created a peaceful and very special place, which was enjoyed
and experienced by a large number of people. It was a very different weekend and agreat success.
